The skeleton is the the framework of the body and allows the body to stay standing. When you are born you have 300 bones in your body but by the time you reach adulthood you have around 206 bones. ALso, all bones are alive . Old bones are dry and brittle but when the bones are inside your body they are fully alive and healthy.
